Dear Clairton Families,
I am pleased to inform you that we will be resuming in-person as well as remote learning beginning on Monday, January 11, 2021. Those students previously enrolled in our hybrid in-person learning model are scheduled to return to the building. Elementary students will attend school in-person in the morning and middle and high school students will attend in the afternoon. Students on the hybrid schedule will work remotely at home for the second half of their school day. Full - time remote students will continue with their established schedule.
Please note that you have a choice to send your child to school or to keep them home and work remotely. New guidance from The Pennsylvania Department of Health supports elementary students returning to in-person learning during the substantial phase of the pandemic but requires that all students wear masks and follow health and safety protocols. If anyone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please inform the school principal immediately. For the health and safety of everyone, quarantine and testing protocols must be followed before students can return to the building. Also, if your child has traveled out of the state, they are expected to quarantine for 10 days or until a negative test result is received. You may provide our school nurse, Ms. Hammonds with the test results.
I am hopeful and optimistic that health conditions will improve this year. We look forward to seeing your children and continuing to serve our community the best way possible.
Take care, stay healthy and be safe,
Ginny L. Hunt, Ed.D.
Superintendent
