Barn Hill Preserve will be here next week in the morning on Thursday, 9/30/21.  Presentations will last between 30-45 minutes.  

Grade levels will be called to line up.  Teachers will escort students up and then sit with students throughout the presentation.  

9:00 AM - 4th and 5th grade.  

10:00 AM - K and 1st grade

11:00 AM - 2nd and 3rd grade

Will ned microphone and sound system
One table and 3 chairs are needed that can be set up near an outlet for their printer - internet access is needed.

Thank you for scheduling with Barn Hill Preserve for Thursday, September 30, 2021 9:00am at 501 Waddell Ave Clairton PA, 15025! Whether this is our first time at your school or we have been there several times I would just like to give a quick rundown of how the day will go.
Once we confirm the date we will email you the permission slips which should be handed out to each student and a teacher total form for each classroom teacher. We ask that every student attending the presentation returns a signed permission slip. We do not require them to make a purchase to be part of the presentation. If a student has chosen to get a photo or any merchandise we ask that the classroom teachers fill out their name and choices on the teacher total forms. By doing this it helps us organize all of the photos and merchandise, this also speeds up the photo process.
When our presenter(s) arrive to your school they will first go to the front office to sign in. At this time we ask to have all of the permission slips handed in and will collect only the permission slips at this time. Please keep all the total forms and any money collected with each individual classroom. I know some schools have a strict policy about cash and/or checks which we are happy to work around if your school has one of those policies. One to two of our employees will show up about 30 minutes prior to the presentation and will set up once all of the permission slips are collected. After being set up you can have the students start walking to the room that we will be presenting in. Prior to our arrival we ask to have microphone and speaker if possible for our presentation, along with a table and 2/3 chairs. We bring all other gear needed for the day.
Our presentations last 30-45 minutes depending on the age group. After we have completed ALL of the presentations we will begin taking any photos that have been purchased. Only the student who have paid for a photo need to stay after the presentation. We understand that teachers are excited for their photos too but we ask that you let us get all of the kids before we let you get a photo. Mainly because we try to let the adults hold the animals but for the student we hold the animals next to them for both the children’s and animals safety. We will collect teacher total forms and the money as each classroom gets their photos taken. We can generally take about 100 photos in an hour. Merchandise will be handed out either during or after the photo process, ocassionaly we run out and will have to mail any missing items. As stated on the permission slips it can take up to 3 weeks to receive items if we run out.
For the photos process please have one area selected for us. This can either be a gym, classroom, or hallway that has at least a 10x10 space with a near by outlet. We ask to not have to change photo locations, but it doesn't have to be the same place that the presentation takes place. Photos can not be done outside.
As we take the photos we will be printing them at the same time to allow students to take them home. Sometimes we have technical difficulties or run out of photo paper if this happens we guarantee the photos within a week. If you have a USB drive we will give you a digital copy of the photos. Please note that occasionally we have missing photos, either they stuck to another child’s photo or our printer skipped it. If this happens please email delaware@barnhillpreserve.com with a picture of the student, their name, and what animal they chose.
