Standardized Testing and Instructional Schedule Updates

Due to the pandemic and building renovations from the flood in September,  CCSD has updated the standardized testing and instructional schedules as follows:

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL PSSAs
    • ELA PSSA for Grades 6, 7, & 8 on April 20-22, 2021  (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
    • MATH PSSA for Grades 6, 7, & 8 on April 26-27, 2021  (Monday & Tuesday)
    • SCIENCE PSSA for Grade 8 Only on April 28-29, 2021  (Wednesday & Thursday)
      • The school day for students during Middle School PSSAs will be modified as follows:
        • ELEMENTARY:  No change.  Students will follow their normal schedule.
        • MIDDLE SCHOOL:  Students are to report to the school no later than 8:00 a.m. for testing.  Students will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. to work remotely at home during the ELA and MATH PSSA dates.  Only students needing extended time or making up sections of the PSSAs will remain in the building in the afternoon.  Letters will also be mailed home at the end of March with all of the testing information.
        • HIGH SCHOOL:  Students are not to report to the building and will work remotely from home on class assignments during the ELA and MATH PSSA dates only.
  • ELEMENTARY PSSAs
    • ELA PSSA for Grades 3, 4, & 5 on May 11-13, 2021  (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
    • MATH PSSA for Grades 3, 4, & 5 on May 17-18, 2021  (Monday & Tuesday)
    • SCIENCE PSSA for Grade 4 Only on May 19-20, 2021  (Wednesday & Thursday)
      • K-12 STUDENTS:  Elementary PSSAs will not affect student schedules.  Students will follow their normal schedule.  Letters will also be mailed home by mid-April with all of the testing information. 
        • (Note:  High School Keystones overlap with Elementary MATH and SCIENCE PSSAs.  Please review the Keystone dates to note how they affect Middle and High School students' schedules.)
  • HIGH SCHOOL KEYSTONE EXAMS
    • LITERATURE KEYSTONE on May 17-18, 2021  (Monday & Tuesday)
    • BIOLOGY KEYSTONE on May 19-20, 2021  (Wednesday & Thursday)
    • ALGEBRA KEYSTONE on May 24-25, 2021  (Monday & Tuesday)

      • The school day for students during High School Keystone Exams will be modified as follows:
        • ELEMENTARY:  No change.  Students will follow their normal schedule.
        • MIDDLE SCHOOL:  Students are not to report to the building and will work remotely from home on class assignments during the Literature, Biology, and Algebra Keystone dates.
        • HIGH SCHOOL:  Only High School students taking the Keystone Exams will report to the building no later than 8:00 a.m. on their scheduled testing dates.  All other High School Students will work remotely from home on class assignments.   Students participating in the Keystones will be dismissed between 10:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to work remotely from home on class assignments.  Only students needing extended time or making up sections of the Keystones will remain in the building in the afternoon.  Letters will also be mailed home by mid-April with all of the testing information.
