IMPORTANT: School Reopening Thursday, Nov. 12th

Dear Clairton Families:

I am pleased to inform you that heat and hot water have been restored to the Clairton Education Center and we can resume use of middle and third levels of the building on Thursday, November 12th.  In order to accommodate all of our students in grades K-12 we will be providing a hybrid schedule that includes a half day in-person learning and a half day remote, in addition to the full day remote model.

Elementary students who were full time in-person or hybrid in September prior to the water main break will attend school in-person in the morning from 7:30 am – 11:00 am.  They will have a half day of remote learning in the afternoon from 11:45 am through 2:45 pm.  Students will have a grab and go breakfast and lunch before they are dismissed.  Dismissal is promptly at 11:00 am.

Middle and high school students will work remotely at home in the mornings from 8:00 am through 11:00 am.  They need to arrive at school between 11:40 am and 11:55 am as classes will begin promptly at 12:00 pm. Dismissal is at 3:15 pm.   Students will be served lunch daily.

Students who are learning full time remote or in our Cyber School will continue as is.  If any remote student is interested in changing learning models, please contact the principals to see if there is space available.

We are excited to see our students once again and remind you to symptom screen your child in the morning prior to sending him/her to school.  Please make sure they wear a mask.

I appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the pandemic and water main break.

Respectfully,

Ginny L. Hunt, Ed.D.
Superintendent
