Technology Fund Drive

Dear Clairton School Community,

The Coronavirus Pandemic has changed our lives and the way we communicate and conduct business significantly. School buildings in all fifty states have closed as we prioritize health and safety needs of our students and families first. Continuing to provide educational services to our children through online digital lessons has become our best option to ensure they continue to master the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive and graduate career and college ready. In order to fulfill this commitment to our students we need to ensure they have the necessary tools at home to participate in what is being called “remote” learning. Internet access, a technology device and educational software are necessary resources to be able to access an online learning platform.

Realizing the importance for all of our students to participate in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) curriculum our district has made a great effort to provide students with a Chromebook. Teachers have utilized Google Classroom as well as a variety of resources to engage students in learning with technology. Unfortunately, we do not have enough Chromebooks for all of our students who need one, or the financial means to update and renew the literacy and math software programs that engage our students. Some students need new and updated devices to run the necessary programs efficiently, especially if this school closure is extended into the 2020-2021 school year.

Clairton City School District is seeking donations to help purchase technology and software to provide online learning for all of our students and to ensure the health and well-being of children and families who rely on technology to access health care when required to stay at home. The cost is far beyond our budget and we are reaching out for donations to assist with this goal. We want to ensure that every child has the resources and tools necessary to be successful as we embark on a non-traditional learning model.

Donations will be greatly appreciated by:
